Hey everyone, I am very excited to share my most recent acquisition. I have been wanting a test flight jacket for a while and finally found this one on eBay! While, unfortunately, the tag on my jacket is worn out, I was fortunate enough to find Jorge's posting of an almost identical jacket, with his tag reading "FLITE GEAR BY PORT ECHO AWNING, INC." Besides the worn-out tag and a few moth holes on the waistband, the jacket is in perfect shape. The owner of the jacket, Ray Allen, was not a test pilot but a photographer for Grumman from 1974 to 1994.
If anyone has any additional information on Flite Gear please share, as there is not a lot of info out there. I take it that Flite Gear and Flite Wear are related, but the Flite Wear jackets I have seen have Land as the manufacturer, whereas this jacket has Port Echo Awning as the manufacturer.
Also, as a side note, I have the opportunity to acquire an interesting A2 jacket; it would be my first one, and I would like to get some advice. Let me know if anyone would be open to this! Thank you!
