Not exactly sure where to post this but here is a some pics of the beginnings of my Early War 8th Air Force Impression(don't worry for any Living Histories I am going to wear my Goodwear A-2).

Everything I am wearing Is original except for the Shoes and the Mae West:

The Jacket belonged to 1st Lt. Robert C. Sage, pilot of "Pleasure Bent" 838th Bombardment Squadron, 487th Bombardment Group. He Flew B-17s and was originally with the 306th Bombardment Group, one of the first Air Force units to go overseas. The Pocket Patch is that of the 367th Bombardment Squadron, 306th Bombardment Group. The artwork is that of his plane "Pleasure Bent" which was Part of 838th Bombardment Squadron.

Any advice on how best to preserve the pocket patch and artwork would be greatly appreciated.

Great kit, Josh. You really look the part. Look forward to seeing your other photos. Who's the maker of the jacket?

Cheers,

Mac

After viewing your picture, and noting the beautiful jacket, it makes me consider collecting the slacks and shoes, too.

Great jacket Blue, you certainly have the looks to go with the kit. It'd be great to see some more pictures of the artwork if you get a chance. Where did you find it and if you don't mind my asking how much did it set you back?

Welcome to the forum. The no name 27753 A2 is one of my favourites as the leather has quite a lot of character. It is certainly thought to be the work of Cable Raincoat, but there is no absolute proof. What size is yours?

If I don't make a mistake, I think this jacket was for selling on flightjacket.net a few months ago.

Both those units were part of the 8th Air Force. He was in the ETO. He was awarded Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with Three Oak Leaf Clusters for his service.

Both the patch and artwork are original to the jacket (Letters from the family, The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum, and the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum were included with jacket, and all attest to its historic integrity.)

hello Josh,

welcome again.
congrats for your splendid (and historical) jacket.
for sure you have the right look.
in B/W and a little work on the photo (aging process - or sepia); it would be difficult to say it's a reanactment picture.
splendid.....really splendid

keep on posting

Ditto on that great looking leather jacket, the whole kit and the way you wear it. You're about the age of the original guys they were issued to. Question - I googled Nations Attic and got info on how sell tjem an A2 but not how to buy one. What's the deal?

If you click on the link "looking for a jacket?" it opens up an email. So I guess you just shoot them an email telling them what you are looking for and it goes from there.
