Opinions About This Avirex A-2

This Avirex caught my attention because of the features most Avirex A-2s don't have.
The stand collar and the box stitch hanger. It looks like this jacket was given a distressed finish. I didn't like the normal Avirex over elasticized waistband...it ruins the way a jacket drapes by pinching in all that material.

I know that Avirex produced a line of A-2s which were only sold in foreign markets, primarily Japan. Is this one of those models ?

Yup I realize the auction is ended, but I'm still curious about the jacket.
Any opinions ?

I had the same cut jacket from them in horse. Great jacket at a good price.

Proof positive that not all Avirex jackets are "mall crap". I have one like this, got on eBay for under $50. Can't beat that.
Fits really well, too. Most people on the street won't know the difference between an Avirex and ANY of the high-end reproductions anyway...

I have one of the first Avirex jackets. Tobacco brown liner, chrome steel neck hook, Talon brass bell zipper, very heavy duty wool knits. the MFG tag looks correct, the stitching is dead on, and the hide has the best draw to it. Can't say the same for some of the newer fashion items, but the old stuff is pretty good.

I wonder if that auction jacket is a Schott made Avirex?

I have no experience with Schott made Avirex products.
I recently sold an Avirex/Cockpit horse A-2, it didn't have the collar stand nor box sewn hanger. It had the standard Avirex loop hanger and the pocket flaps didn't have the same curves.

yup, the pockets flaps do look similar to the ones on the Dubow, thanks.
