After a couple of years I think of checking around to see if I could find one in nice condition, I

finally made the plunge. Nice shape, but must say the size small is smaller than I thought. Snug even for me. Should have gone for a medium. I think these are even rarer in larger sizes. Good condition is hard to find because these are mechanic/ground crew jackets, which are made of cotton and are not going to do well exposed to grease, oil, etc etc, and also snagging on things if you are reaching into an engine or something and trying to fix it.

There are several CWU 7/P listed on crapola-bay right now and since long.
There are also many offered in some surplus stores in Seoul Itaewon ( ya ..I know the ticket flying there is costing an arm and a leg ).
If you are serious about one let me know your size and budget and I can check them out…Shipping might be higher than they are worth.. anyway.. let me know.

Never heard of it. Looks like a nice practical jacket, lots of pockets. If Bronson or somebody of that ilk were to do a repro, I’d quite fancy one.

as BR is doing the mentioned liner (and I quite like mine), I was looking for that jacket too sometime ago but couldn't find one in my size and for a price I was willing to pay... so the liner must suffice I guess :D

Real McCoys is doing one, but at $1350 I think it's too expensive for what it is.

Expensive = high in price for not matching quality, hence.. not sellable…BUT.. TRMC‘s sell a lot… ( maybe not here, but they sell. )
Anyway, I agree, high price for a repro, where originals in very good condition and all sizes incl. large ones can be found easily for less than the half price of the mentioned repro.
The same applies for a lot of post 1950 originals vs. repros.
Never understood that someone pays for a repro when perfectly wearable originals are available for almost the same kind of investment… just my 1 ct
Input.

As I was saying, I don't think the CWU-9/P is the liner for the jacket. The jacket has no corresponding attachments. It just doesn't make sense to have no attachments on a jacket if it was meant to have a liner Here's a side by side pic of the two together. There are snaps in the inside of the CWU-9/P but they would be on the outside if they were meant to attach to a jacket.

Yup, could be for attachment to pants. If there were someone around who was on the scene at the time and was issued this gear maybe they could provide answers. There is little info on the web.

I've come up with a theory. I believe the combination of CWU-9/P liner and CWU-9/P quilted pants were most likely used in the CWU-27/P coveralls. I think it would make sense.
