Think they were still called lightnings, but F-4's and later F-5's. Very cool paint scheme, medium blue-ish gray over and under. I think it was called the phantom or ghost scheme though as a matter of fact. No gun, cameras only.

Yep, completely stripped out planes. The mission was to fly fast as all hell, take photos, and don't get shot down! :lol: Seriously though, these guys were pretty darn brave to fly over enemy territory with no guns. It must have been tough being assigned a fighter plane knowing you would never get a chance at aerial combat with the enemy or a chance at shooting down a enemy plane.
