Obviously a genuine A-2 but when was that art work done?
No name tag? No squadron patch? No history at all - not even a story of who once had it? To me not the signs of a proud enough flier to get that paint job.

Also have a pic of 6165's art from FlyPast magazine where the name "Lady Gay" in block letters is partially visible with some sort of black cloud background. It is in an article talking about 1LT Mike Prestia's recollections of the 452nd's "Maximum Effort" on 24 DEC 44. I haven't scanned that one in yet, but am attaching a photo of their Jacket art shared with me by the Tail gunner's son. Cool stuff!
