new rough wear from bk

platon [remember him?] sent a link to the bk face book page showing the new seal hh for his 27753 rough wear a-2. some time ago, he asked to borrow my original to send to italy to have the hh hide color, weight, and surface reproduced. well, it looks like they nailed it. my original has areas of reddish brown showing through the seal color, and from what i can tell, these new hh hides will do that as well. the original has areas that are smooth, and areas of graininess, as does the reproduction. yet another a-2 reproduction maker raising the bar.

yes, this is great jacket.
But as many people mentioned in the past, the sleeve does not tapped, this can be seen clear in pics 17...I really wish BK can fix this.

hmmm... perhaps i am not seeing what you see, z, but is appears that the bk a-2 has the same sleeve taper as my original.

It appears to me that the original has wider upper arms before the taper. Maybe the BK sleeves look that way because they are trimming down the upper arm dimensions.

Please look at this photo, it is more stright on BK's A2. And BK's sleeve is wider just above the cuff. Apart from this, this is the best repro I've seen.

Cover the wrist knits in the pics and you will see they are the same. You can even measure them on a zoom. The worn knit on the original shapes it for your eyes in comparison to the thinner knit.

Yes, I did the measurements. I downloaded the pics from FB, view it in the actual size, from this photo, the BK's is 2.6cm wide, the original is 2.3 cm. Both measured just above the wrist.

That's the 0.3 cm error... )

Yes, 0.3cm on photo, which about 2 cm in real jacket. More importantly, The original achieves the same width at about 1.5 cm about the wrist...in real jacket, this around 10cm...and this is why I am saying it is more tapered than BKs.

Try the other photos...or take Victor's word for it...

Great jacket Victor... Great work BK. For the guys who wear a hefty watch a taper is a pain in the ass....

If you look hard enough you can see anything the way you want to Vic

Same for the photo 17.

As I said, this is a great jacket. Especially the leather, I think this is the best you can get. But also, this jacket can be improved.

For the record, I am a fan of BK.
But I am a different kind of fans, I dare to face their problem, and try to help them to improve. Try to cover the problem does not help them at all.

Their claims continue to be borderline obnoxious ("worlds most accurate this" "unparalleled quality that") but golly I've enjoyed the pics of recent jackets (especially the RW comparison set; great job on the help out, Vic), so who am I to complain?? Its become strangely charming I me :D

Starting to get anxious see all these other BK jackets made that aren't mine- damn my impatience!!

Those RW comparison photos are very impressive. I am wondering if they can do the same for the acro 18775 contract. Thats the next a2 I am going to get.

Speaking of patience...I think you own more than one A2 from Good Wait, right? :D

Has anyone thought that the sleeves on the original have stretched out a lot at the elbow from wear, giving a more taper appearance?

And the hide is amazing, it is the closest I have handled on a whole jacket to my original Dubow. The drape and feel is superb, and the raining is excellent with little wear.

Though the top surface wear is a little severe possibly
