I'm not at all familiar with the Australian made V505 and so do not know whether this is kosher, some our friends in the Antipodes (Andrew, is there any left in the war chest after the recent Perry purchase?) might be able to comment?
The seller describes it as:
You are bidding on a REAL Bomber hjacket of the late Lt. George Nellis who was shot down off the coast of Australia in a B-26 (#42-100292) on February 28th, 1944...he was part of the 22nd Bomber Group called the "Red Raiders". The jacket was purchased several years ago from an antique shop in West Virginia and Lt Nellis family was contacted and provided the information...the jacket is small with approx pit to pit measurement of 18 1/2"....length of sleeve from shoulder seam to end of cuff is approx 23 1/2...length of jacket from top of collar to bottom of jacket approx 25 1/2"...the cuffs and waist band have been replaced along with the zipper (talon)...I believe this jacket is Goatskin....on the back of the jacket is stenciled in pencil the shape of a bunch of bombs ( 22 I believe) but were never filled in due to Lt Nellis death...wonderful collectible from WWII....The tag in the jacket reads V505 1943 SIZE Made in Austalia...cant find the size because the tag is only partially complete..check out the pics...19.99 to ship in USA..49.00 overseas
