What are the best resources / links to find out about the original owner. I have googled based off of name, 2 initials and last, as well as 3 patches telling group and squadron but came up with nothing. Thoughts welcome.

Newspapers.com will frequently have a lot of minutia about their lives, as well as obituaries. Ancestry.com is great as well.
