Today's example is a revolutionary jacket that set the bar for the future of Army field jackets: the M-1943. It was originally designed to replace the M-1941, which was found to be unsuitable for protecting troops in colder climates.
The M-1943 was introduced in 1943 and quickly gained popularity among Army and Marine troops. It continued to be used even during the Korean conflict, until it was replaced by the M-1950/1951.
This 79-year-old icon is in immaculate condition, the cutter tag is still attached and it even has the inspection label in the pocket.
It is worth mentioning that these jackets run larger than marked. I'm surprised that being a size 36, it fits me perfectly.
Hope you all enjoy it!
