N.O.S. WWII M-1941 FIELD JACKET W-669-QM-29626

Nothing beats an original new old stock survivor.

Today’s example is not a flight jacket itself, rather it is an Army issued field jacket; the M-1941, originally designed for the use in ground combat. It became one of the most popular garments of the war, and eventually found its way into the air. It was highly desirable for its comfort and plain good looks.

Due to wide adoption, the M-1941 is usually recognized as a symbol of WWII.

This 80 year old icon is still in immaculate condition, that even the cutter tags are still attached.

Say no more, hope you guys enjoy it!

Regards,
Jorge

This Jacket reminds of the one guitar from Nigel's guitar collection in the film 'This is Spinal Tap' at the 1:00 mark in this clip:

Gracias Jorge!

Don't see a M-41 in that one, but watching the movie I noticed Neil Young was wearing one during his appearance in The last Waltz, playing with "The Band" (older members might know who they are, or the ones with good taste in music)

I think they're both original color images, not colorized -- I have them both in a book appropriately titled "America at War in Color."

Do like the Parsons jacket, many pics existing of course of aircrew wearing them too, guessing mainly in non flying use! My ATF repro is adorned with a AAF cloth shoulder roundel and 77th FS patch sourced from ELC years ago when they first offered them - did query the b/g colour of yellow with Gary Eastman at the time thinking it’s normally Red but he said it varied???
