Mystery G-1, at least a mystery to me

Anyone have any ideas on this one:

i can't quite make out the label, but it appears to be 7823E (AS). However, both the collar and the label don't look like "E" vintage jacket. the leather appears to be cowhide, but can't really tell. i compared the label to many others on the web.

ideas?

To me it looks like a '72 Star 7823E with a replacement collar of genuine mouton.

I now own this jacket and it is indeed a Star Sportswear (great collar) '72 in size 48 (from what I can make out) I love this jacket It's in great condition IMHO & has fantastic drape.

Hide appears to be goat, it's much lighter than my ELC repro M-422A & very supple.
