Well it’s often hard to tell, but it does look a lot like my old steer A-2. That developed some incredible grain after a while.

Ill ask the good lady when she gets back from work . I tried a 38 on last year at DX and it was just too snug for me , i felt very restricted in it , and when this came up for sale i thought that would be a better fit and the measurements from the seller tallied up with mine .
Im hoping by when i wear a sweatshirt underneath it might look a little better ??

What maybe a factor Carl is that Eastman have trimmed up their fit over the years. So, assuming you tried a new Eastman 38 on their stand last year, and you have an earlier size 40 in your pics (which looks great btw) then the difference isn’t the same as a size 38 and 40 of the same jacket of the same vintage if that makes sense?

The sleeves look a little long. However I would wear it for a year and give them a chance to wrinkle up and shorten a bit before I tried to do anything with them. The rest of the jacket looks good.

sleeve length has always been a problem for me!! :(
im hoping they do "shorten " a bit as i would like to have this or my B10 to have a 487th FS patch put on !

Looks good Carl. I agree the sleeves are a smidge long but once the hide in the sleeves develops some permanent creases they'll shorten by 1/2'' to 1''.

Other than that I think the fit looks good and you've got a little bit of room in there to wear another thin layer if the weather's nippy.

Looks a winner from here.
