In the art trade this style has always been known as "Naive"

I've always wanted to extend the term to ............."to think anyone but the artist will rate this"............to the word "Naive"

You buy it, you own it, it’s yours to do as you please..... we may think it looks naff but if the guy who owns it is happy and doesn’t care what we think, then good on him !

Too many people do things to please others, to garner peer approval. Someone who doesn’t give a rat’s arse what others think is a truly happy & secure person ;)

Pray, where can one buy rat's arses, do they come in in quantities or singly?

To be fair, it’s no worse than a lot of WII jacket art-which, again, was painted on jackets which had been issued, about which the wearer probably didn’t give the aforementioned rodent’s posterior, by guys who were in most cases not professional artists. Nowadays we spend thousands on the jackets and get professionals to do our artwork for us, which I guess isn’t really terribly authentic. I don’t like big back pieces like that anyway, but it could be argued that that is closer to a WWII jacket than most of the beautifully done jacket art we see today. He’s trying to say though, that it’s ‘Time worn’, but I don’t think the Time Worn process includes cracking of the surface coating like that. I won’t be buying it, anyway.

As it’s art everyone has an opinion. I painted Porky Pig on the back of a repro A-2 and many people I’m sure question why I did that. I too have questioned it but it’s from an actual nose art and my wife wouldn’t let me paint a lady on the back.
