In picture 6 (the second group shot) you can see a couple of men wearing monk strap shoes!! Not exactly regulation but very stylish. :D Thanks for posting.

Planes are B-18A (sharknose), B-18 (snubnose), P-36.

What or where was the 92ED shown on the P-36? Engineering Detachment perhaps?

Monkstraps were very seldom seen on officers prewar, and never on civilians except for a few fashion plates.
Much more common postwar - an instance of uniforms influencing fashions back home.

One suspects these were aircrew trainees, who were never issued A-2s prewar, or primary flight trainees, who had not yet earned them.

Do those blue shirts (and o/s caps?) ring any bells with anybody?
