I think I read years ago that the plane used all the engines for takeoff then shut down the 4 radials...but that it could take off with just the one turbo....imagine removing the 4 radials....tons of weight removed....adding more fuel capacity,,,yeah adding more weight.....would be a hoot...less vibration, noise??? make agreat executive liner non stop London to NY?
