I had a recent amazing find at a shocking bargain price. The seller was unaware of the treasure they had. I saw the listing and was immediately shocked by the mouton. It's very dark and pristine like it just rolled off the production floor. I could tell this jacket was not worn much. It must have been packed away in a box for a very long time. Label is new looking. Liner is perfect and looks new. The knits are tight. a few small minor holes in the waist where a moth nibbled a bit during storage. Will be an easy darning job on those. Not a single mark on the closure leather from zipper rub, so the zipper was not operated much. The button holes are very stiff like they were not opened much. Then when I opened the right pocket, BAM! Cutter tag inside. I like how the style just says USN. Interesting:
Mouton appears a little lighter in direct sunlight but the actual color is very dark.
Ii is actually the darkest I have seen out of the G-1's I have seen from the 1960's. No sun fade, almost like the color of Dynel:
Good hunting...
