Mid 50's Nylon X-2 Test Pilots

Really outstanding, thanks. Any idea what's going on with the X-2's fuselage and tailplane?

I've never seen those photos before. Thanks so much for sharing. Fitz Fulton was a long time test pilot at Edwards. Looks like a mix of L-2A, L-2B and B-15D. Some of the photos don't come up on my computer though, so I might have missed some others.

BTW, what looks like strings on the fuselage and tail is instrumentation to measure airflow over the aircraft during flight test. ;)

Ah,the golden age of flight.I truely love seeing pics from that era of military aviation.Todays stuff seems sterile to me when compared with the late 50's early 60's military aviation,especialy the Edwards crowd.Thanks!!

Interesting that a CWU-1 with an L-2A over it.......... That is one combination I've never seen before..........
