McColgan (SM Wholesale) A-2 with 'Mareeba Butchers' patches/art...

Snaffled this one this morning for around US$570. At the moment the A-2s retail at near on $400 so very happy.

This art was one of the options for Ties on the FiveStar Dubow. I have not sighted a larger, darker 5th AAF roundel
in all of my years so I am hoping the patches are original. I have only found one accurately sized version of the
Butchers patch.

As a frequent participant at the Mareeba Military Muster, on the periphery of the airfield this one is a very sacred
purchase. Fell into my lap just when I needed it....

Won't let me save the images as JPEGs?

Even the dodgy art is close to the original/dodgy art I have seen...

Original patches ….!
Would love to hear how you came by those sir. :)
As fitted to the jacket. Sat watching an Aussie made 5th AAF patch on eBay for years. Think John J. may have snapped it up. Haven't seen one since. This jacket came complete and was a potential commission for Ties onbthe Dubow. Went the Red Raiders instead. Manifested into my wardrobe... accidental brilliance.

Aus look at these I often find sold in France, I always grab them when I get the chance as they're cheap, I used to put them on original jackets I sold with artwork, I stopped doing it though as one day they're going to dry up

I can get the shoulder sized Australian made 5th AAF patches and have a draw full of US WWII patches. The larger 5" 5th AAF roundel patches are rarer.
