I finally got around to taking pictures of the M-422A Willis and Geiger named to a pilot Aviation Machinist's Mate. I still need to put knits on it but otherwise it's in very good shape. THe triple marked Talon is painted brown. I had never seen that done before on a M-422A.
The leather is really good. I had to clean it as it was very dirty from an accumulation of grit.
It's a size 44 and fits like one.

Hi Tom,

I am pleased that you posted these photos. Your jacket reinforces the fact that the Deco Talon was in fact used on these W & G M-422A. My larger sized W & G M-422A currently awaiting to be refurbished will be having it's now obvious replacement brass Talon zipper assembly swapped out for the same Talon zipper assembly exhibited this jacket.

By utilizing this new deco Talon zipper assembly so similar to yours my jacket will be more like that used when it was originally issued. By you posting photos of this jacket proves out what was explained to me by John Chapman, these particular W & G M-422A jackets were very early versions of the M-422A and many came with this early or deco style Talon zipper.

Thanks, Tom
