M-422A in the Pacific

After researching a squadron patch as related to my Father's service I lucked up on a picture of the CO LCDR Upson of VT-5. This picture was taken just a short time before he was KIA in the Spring of 1944.

As it turns out, VT-5 " Torpcats "evolved into VA-55 "Warhorses" with roots in my hometown Virginia Beach, VA.

Cheers, Dave

Great photo! Love the large graphics of the islands and atolls Upson and his Avenger bombed. Very cool.
Makes me prouder than ever to wear my M-422a's.

Still awesome, Grant-my favorite repro

How's sunny NYC? We're finishing up our year here (wife's fellowship) in FL, not sure what will happen next

Great picture Dave. M-422As were widely used in the Pacific especially after 1944 when the fleet turned North.
