Just got around to watching that video and I'm just amused at how much they're...fetishizing? (honestly, that feels like the right word) 3 oz leather. It's just like how denim heads gush over how tough ultra-heavyweight denim supposedly is. Y'all do realize that, in the era you're harkening back to, most denim was 10-12 oz and most of the leather was comparatively thin, right? Right? o_O

The way they were dunking on Pakistani leather and ESPECIALLY the way they blithely claimed there are "no companies making leather jackets in the USA anymore" was pretty infuriating too. Any of us could name 5 American companies that have been producing much nicer work than that "Patriot Coat." And while Pakistan has produced a lot of crap leather for fast fashion, all it took was Shawn handling an original goatskin Dubow and he produced some stunning goatskin on the first try.

Visited the site, and what can I say. I strangely almost can say I’m beginning to like it. The more time I spend ruminating on it the more I “kind of” like it, gawd knows why. Won’t be buying though.
