They are pretty much the same apart from the buttons, but the one you linked is a bit expensive, WW2 ones in good size and condition can still be found for less than £60. They always remind me of bin-men and coal deliveries when I was a kid in the 1960's!

Or, dare I say it at the risk of evangelising, an A-1 in cape? Buttoned so easy to unbutton the lower fastenings for driving...

Yes, thanks for those comments guys, they are really pretty well styleless when you think of it. The A-1 is probably the way to go ultimately.

I think you're right there, Andrew ... I've had a few, and experimented. The only sense I could get out of the last one, was to wear it over a navy wool crewe neck ... overkill in our climate.

Oh yeah, and the originals are certainly nicer than the later Belgian version.
