Not a GW...or an original.
The most obvious thing.....never seen a Good Wear with a "Made in USA" label.
Certainly never seen an original with that label.
ALso...the manufacturer label is not one of John's...or even a decent copy of an original label.
See close up from the GW site;
John is absolutely anal about copying the original labels...even down to the fine points of how the individual letters are shaped.
Also..the pocket flaps don't look right. Not scalloped enough. (See photos from GW site again.)
Re; "Leather looks Japanese"...
photos are pretty worthless when it comes to getting the quality of leather..
When it comes to country of origin.....forget it.
I'm thinking Lost Worlds, had the same mistake on the spec label, the infamous missing '1' and the made in america is sew in a strange place, in my Lost Worlds it's sew in the lining on the right hand side.
if there was a close up of the zips or snaps then that would help. Lost worlds would have ring snaps, and a 50's Talon style zipper with unmarked box.
If you look at the label, the Drawing # says "30-415", instead of "30-1415" which is the original drawing #. Someone here, on another thread, said Lost Worlds did that on their labels to avoid confusion with originals.
Got in touch with the seller.
Says his grandfather collected WW2 memorabilia/repro stuff. The jacket is definitely not original. Not sure who the maker is.
An early Lost Worlds? Not ever seen them with the "made in USA" label before, and the leather looks much lighter weight than what you'd normally associate with LW's jackets, though.
This is a Lost Worlds Dubow. There is the obvious mistake on the label with a missing digit and the separate size label-both features of LW Dubows. The seller should state it is a repro.
