Is a fighting knife at risk being confiscated overseas?

Selling a sykes knife on Ebay and so far questions about me shipping to France, Italy, England, Australia, and Germany. I will only ship registered and fully insured but am I still at risk shipping it at all internationally?

eBay used to be dead set against double edged stuff in Australia. They have eased the restrictions on telescoping stocks and daggers at Customs. I have purchased two FS daggers and a CHEAP (but GOOD) V-42 replica from a vendor in Sydney on eBay! I can't list a model gun kit on US eBay now? Australia used to be worse than the USA.

They can bid...upping your price in the mean time. Just warn them Customs issues are THEIR responsibility and a bid acknowledges that.

Your call.

You may well have problems shipping to here in the UK as customs may seize it as a dangerous item. The risk will be with the buyer as to whether they want to take that chance, it might be a better chance if it is clearly marked as an item of historic/militaria. It might be worth checking on the HMRC website though or even emailing a militaria dealer here such as Blunderbuss who sell a lot of knives online so probably have experience of importing too.

I recently received an M-3 trench knife from the US. It arrived at my door customs charge free and it had not been tampered with. The seller had marked the value down and on the customs label described it as an antique M-3. Maybe I was just lucky on this occasion as it's the first thing I've bought from outside the EU in several years that has not been hit with some charge or other.

What type of Fairbairn Sykes is it? I like them all, but the first pattern is a thing of absolute beauty.

Nice solid third pattern, had a second pattern a couple of months ago. Also, any input on the Sten Gun pouch? No markings and loaded with 7 un-messed with 32 round mags. The German Bayonet is nicely marked 42ddl, Luftwaffe frog is toast but otherwise a real beauty. Just when I thought to start keeping some things, had to buy a new car. Oh well, easy come easy go.
