People do strange things if they don't know what they are dealing with. Look at the garishly lined A-2's that regularly appear on ebay. Says he paid nearly £200 twenty five years ago. The shop must have had big windows ! They certainly did make late War Irvins. I have one from the 1944-5 period with the typical rounded collar. The jacket is restorable, but the insignia is likely to leave traces on the jacket. Why on earth did the guy put it there in the first place as they are all out of keeping with the jacket?
