Irvin jacket at motor auction

Saw this pic of an Irvin with unusual squadron patch from Charterhouse Auctions recent (?) sale....expected price was £100, no idea what it went for but just shows that many Irvins were used by motorists post-war....

Is the Charterhouse school or some other organisation ?
BTW they have auctions at Ardingly where lost property from London Underground is sold off. Vintage jackets for £10 ....

This is their address: The Long Street Salerooms, Sherborne, Dorset so I don't think they are anything to do with the school, seem to specialize on motoring collections in particular.

Is that a Flying Fish or swallow? If the fish possibly 221 Sq, Wellingtons on Convoy escort 1941 and 1942 to '43 Nth Africa/ Med anti shipping. Very small jacket but i've never seen one with a WWII Kings Crown Squadron patch on it before. Would be worth a lot more that 100 quid if the patch is original to it.

Very high belt, in fact the waistline seems altogether low for an Irvin................? Undoubtedly a CC collar though.

Great photo from a bygone age ........ Ted Simon wore an Irvin for his round the world trip on a motorbike, nice book it is -

Yes, the belt is very high. Perhaps its a traditional leather belt rather than the original half-belt?

I assumed it was a separate leather belt as I have seen this done before by bikers when wearing Irvins.
