I know this is a strange ask but from photos alone, which are all I have, can you tell the health of this hide? It's a 40yo Lewis Leathers/Highwayman. Is there anything telling about it good or bad? I've been told by the owner that it has been in her family for 40 years and that she's selling it because it no longer fits her.
How can you judge the health of a hide by photos? Are there telltale things to look at? Anything that gives away poor quality? Your thoughts are appreciated, thank you.
