My 91 year old uncle stopped in this weekend from AZ,30 year retired Army. Was promoted to E9(Command Sergeant Major) by the age of 44.Served in WW2,Korea and Vietnam..I never asked him what he really did until this passed Sunday,in WW2 he was a combat medic in the Japanese theater threw New Guinea and the Philippians! He also worked in Mash units in Korea and was in charge of logistics for mobile hospitals in Vietnam....HOLLY CRAP!!!And that wasn't all....I asked my uncle if he knew anything about my other uncle(My moms brother)that was killed in WW2 and he told me he was with the 104th Infantry and was a 1st SGT leading his platoon in one of the battles for the Ludendorff Bridge(Remagen)in 1945 and was killed while "selflessly exposing himself to snipper fire for the preservation of his men"!!!!!!Man you look for heroes all your life and I guess I have 2 of them in my family....WOW, who knew!!!!
