Help a newbie with selection of his G1 or ANJ3?

Hi all!

First post here, so please be gentle and excuse any lack of insight on my part. Writing from Minneapolis MN.

I recently became interested in the G1 style flight jacket, but don't love the mouton collar. That led me to consider an anj3-style jacket.

I have a few questions and wondered if more experienced members could give any info.

Do any of the G1's generally available have detachable collars, with just leather underneath? That might be my easiest option, if such a jacket exists.
I was looking at Branded Leather and thought their G1 looked pretty nice. In one of my searches on this forum, I read that Branded (at least a few years ago) would do a custom leather collar on their G1, so making something like the anj3. Anyone know if it's still the case they'd do such custom work? I noted also that Branded now uses cow leather rather than goatskin, and I'd sure prefer the goatskin...anyone know if Branded would still work in goatskin? I have one of the 1992 Orchard/Branded A2 jackets (in goatskin, I believe) and love the (relatively) trim fit, especially relative to the Avirex A2 I bought in the mid-90's sometime. Does anyone know if the fit a recent Branded G1 would be similar in fit to their 1992 A2? I would hate to order a custom jacket and find it's as baggy (especially the oversized sleeves) as my Avirex

Thanks for any insights you might have.

The AN-J-3 is a sharp jacket. I do not know of any G-1 jackets with detachable collar. Something that was essentially the AN-J-3 was also made for the civilian market if I am remembering this correct.

Original AN-J-3 jackets were made in two styles, one with visible zipper like the USN jackets, and one with a wind flap like the A-2.
