Heated USAF flight suit from fifties

Nice rig! If you look closely you'll see that it was inspected in 1950 but is likely of pre-1947 manufacture due to its being labeled "Property Air Forces, U.S. Army."

PS: I looked at the documents and there appears to be an earlier date of either June 1945 or 1946.

If the postage wasn't so damn expensive I'd buy that. Love the manual. I notice it shows a B-10 jacket so surely it's late WW2 era ?

Yes, Peter. If you look closely at the documents the pre-USAF date is visible. The manual could have been printed earlier still, but in any case this suit was an AAF item so the B-10 does not surprise me. It's a great find for someone!

thanks for the info

i'm 99% sure it's a ww2

we may read for sure two dates (stamped in green) : 1950 ... 1945.... and i think in the left corner (small lettering) i may read 1943 (but not sure)

really coollllllllllllllll price

Looks great for the price. Even factoring in shipping it represents a sound investment...Great for the war room..

and alas, 1000 X alas .... i think i will no more , or rarely, buy something in USA due to the °%£*°%£* (incoming) taxes i have to pay
i'm very disapointed about that, so sad

I'm not really well up on this sort of kit but I suspect that the paperwork and packaging are a lot rarer than the jacket itself.

WWII all the way. Looks like June 45. There is no modern use other than display but this is the easiest of the three heated suits to find and afford. I just grabbed one as well because that long extension cord is quite difficult to find without getting it in the "boxed" form. I donated an F-3 suit to the local CAF and quickly they asked for an extension cord to the rheostat. I wasn't about to give up my only one from the blue bunny! I don't think they will get this one either!
Thanks for the tip,
Dave
PS If I hadn't already bought it I would add the last one just due to the decent price.
