It has 100% Wool knits, Conmar Reproduction Zipper, Our new Russet Goatskin, correct United Carr blackened hardware, blackened vent hole eyelets, Nice reproduction label, 100% cotton russet liner, all as seen on originals. This jacket will be listed on the site by Monday October 3rd and will have an introductory rice of just $650

A good looking jacket although oddly disappointing, I was hoping for better.

The label is flawed. The aspect ratio is wrong. The number 3 and 1 are wrong. The number 2 is right
on the size tag but wrong on the label. etc.

The label (and most of the jacket) looks like the ones you get from the Pakistanian makers... Which is OK, if you pay 400 USD less...

Yes the prototype is not perfect. Luckily those are all easy fixes. You won't find these zippers, or knits, or hide in Pakistan used by anyone. You would not be able to get this jacket for $400 or less. I will post the updated version with the corrections.

Picky, picky. Headwind is just trying to source a stitch for stitch exact replica for pennies compared to the other much more expensive makers like AVI. Headwind may even potentially be losing money on this venture, it’s selflessly done for all of us ingrates.

Said many times that Ive always liked the Perry for the more rounded collar (even though I like the pointy Doniger/Spiewak) and seeing the direct comparison, personally I think its a little too ‘square’? Just my observation for what its worth!

Original Perry’s that I have handled, and, or, owned, have tended to be narrower and longer in the body than some other contracts, like rw, dubow, aero, etc.

Yeah. Look how the AVI people had their Pakistani partners do it plus the astronomical mark up for profit (after covering expenses) to get to that final price of $283.25, what a business model.

That jacket looks like a fair deal at $283. I am not really interested in making a tribute jacket. It's not my thing.

Thanks for the constructive criticism by all. I already had a new label in the works. Also a tweaking of the pocket shape and collar shape is in process. I wanted to get our prototype photos posted so you all could see what we have in the works. I absolutely love this new russet goatskin. Beautiful stuff. The changes won't be a problem. I still have my original Perry in hand to copy.

I will be posting up photos of our new prototype when complete.
