Wow! I guess there is nothing to compare pricewise. The 1940 Aero is a very rare jacket but with this provenance the big guns will be out.

Beautiful group! The price is way too high, but it's great to see it! That's the first Doolittle raiders A-2 jacket I have seen on the market. If his medals and award documents for the raid were there, the price would be a little more within range.

Is that steer hide Andrew? It "looks like it" in the pics. What a fantastic grouping. Amazing history there. That's an entire museum set there.
Thanks for posting it up SS. Very cool.

agreed, all of the above. i reckon some serious collectors with deep pockets will make offers at some point. the seller says in he listing that he has more of the estate to sell, so the medals, citations, etc will probably be offered at some point.

The 1940 Aero contract was apparently made from horsehide, whilst the later Aero in the auction was most likely made from cow hide Scott.

I agree with Jeff that the price is too high.

Gone up to 60,000 now with a make an offer.

How many of the Aero 1940 jackets were there Andrew, was it a small order and thats why it's rare.

Great grouping though.

Great to see this! It is a little strange that it is only paper and A-2s - no other hardware. But what history!
