Well...in my view...John Chapman's continuing efforts have turned out quite remarkable. The weaknesses of some other repro makers(even if only slight) have seemed to be addressed. Fine attention to detail...along with exceptional hides have become desirable selling points. JC has had the interest to examine originals and repros for years and even catalog his findings. Seems he has searched diligently to find venders allowing him to put together very detailed jackets. A continuing study of different WW2 contracts(many in hand)...have resulted in detailed research of labels...and even hand dying knits in an effort to get it right. So,yes, many forum members do agree. It's GoodWear's determination and the ongoing results that have become so impressive...and may even encourage others to refine their offerings. GoodWear is a good thing......

Well said Van, (and i'd certainly have no hope to improve on it after a couple of Bundy Reds.)

Well spotted Mr Graham, I'm convinced, it's the punctuation and use of smilies that gave it away.

If it is true them welcome back comrade and in answer to your question yes Good Wear really are the best repro A-2's. ;)

nogbat, by any chance are you the former member known as jacketimp ?
Peter, do suppose you could come work in my office? I need someone who can, at a mere glance, accurately identify the makers of forged checks and fraudulent documents.

Holey Smokes...I think what threw me was all those halfway sensible sentences put together in one post...rather than indecipherable one liners spread out in a dozen or so. Good call.

Gone, but not forgotten.
Neh is still a Registered User, with the ID's shanghai Joe, and jacketimp, so he can visit the forum at any time ... he just chooses not to.

He is a collector of original A-2's which he doesn't wear, and unlike the OP, has little interest in repros.

Poor old imp, I think it's time he came out of retirement.

And apologies nogbat for doubting your integrity.
