Thats one of the things I was noticing as well.

Slightly duller finish to the hide too, or is that just my monitor?
I guess that it's 'dull russet' so that might account for it.

I have a Dubow with this same hide, and would say neither your eyes or monitor are failing you. I really like the look of this Monarch, but taking a hot water plunge seems too risky.

I agree on both counts - the hide looks well, but Steve (BSeal) might have something to say about the knits

Possibly purchased and then the HWT went awry, forcing a move and re-invest? I thought the 'Hot Water Treatment' happened on most jackets? As in the look and the attitude from the wife when you utter the words "I bought another jacket"...
