In case you are wondering, I have a few others that are my personal stash but one can only have so many so off this one goes.

John is AMAZING yet these added features really make this one special.

Thanks :)

PS - it might take a little while for this one to actually list, there seems to be some delays

What a beauty. Good luck with it. If it were a 38 I would make you an offer.

Looks fantastic. If the shoulders hadn't shrunk I'd be bidding on this one. Impressive - good luck.

thanks, yes, I did shrink but still fits me. I did similar depot jobs to my GW Perry and Werber and ELC RW 1401 so I have 4 that are kind of similar however its the overall look I like and the dye job is really durable. I still have a couple of other jackets I have not messed with as well as some very wearable originals so although I would never say I am "set" for a while (how can a collector ever say that?), I sort of am. I think I would like my next jacket to be an original M422. ;)

I had posted a few weeks back asking if any VLJers had a repro A-1 they could let go and that worked out well as it just came today. Fits perfect and a great price, its the current ELC capeskin version - NICE!!!

CBI that jacket rocks! So it's a re-dye job over the new seal HH? Any way you could fill us in on what kind of dye and sealer you used? Any info would be mucho appreciated. Thanks!

Fantastic job with the age acceleration there!

Your listing should bring in an equally impressive result too. You wondered if the Talon was NOS or a repro - I'd say its a NOS, never seen a repro with the Talon slider shape copied so perfectly.

You really have this nailed down! Love the work. Better than any "time worn" issue by ELC in my opinion. ;)

Amazing result! A real shame it's shrunk too small for my measurements especially the shoulders and sleeve length...now if you have one going that is a little larger it might have my name on it!

the shrinking is not something sought after, just a result of drying (which does pop out the most grain). Gotten some PM traffic from folks are the the "new" size.

The size reduction after the work is pretty surprising John. That Dubow I bought from you for Ed Crabtree was tagged a 46 but it was about a 42/44 after your work. It looked great but unfortunately for me I could hardly get it on- luckily it wasn't for me but it fit Ed really well. I've received some shots of him in it recently and i'll post them soon.
Just a note to anyone, make sure you check the dimensions.

yes, there can be lots of shrinkage. It depends on the hide and of course, how much time is spent in the dryer (if any). I have listed any jackets that have shrunk by the "new" size. My build is such to where I have wiggle room with a 44-46 and as we all know, the cut of these jackets makes a huge difference which makes the measurement part tricky to judge. Two A-2's with the same dimensions can fit very differently. I also enjoy a pretty wide range of fit: blousy and trim - I like both and all things in the middle. I notice lots of folks are talking about shrinkage but we (at least I) are not shrinking anything TO effect the size. Its the result of the ageing process if one uses a dryer. I am amazed that in cases of lots of shrinkage that everything still looks great: knits and zipper and the zipper's are not affected at all (looks or function). For my "work" generally after a hot water treatment, I dry the jacket maybe half way and then wear it damp so it form fits. As "small" as this jacket is, it still fits me (a 44R for sure) very well but yes, check measurements very carefully. The easiest way to deal with all of this is just wear the darn things and ake one's time. I just enjoy messing with all of this and in my case, I live in a part of the world with very few jacket wearing months. Really, one can almost get away without a jacket at all here (just maybe an extra flannel shirt in winter) - that's about it. So, for me, real wear takes decades in addition to the fact that one can;t wear an A-2 to/for everything - at least not me. Gotta say though, this Bronco in the flesh is KILLER, the BOMB, etc.!

Looks great! And a nice listing. It will be interesting to see how the "general public" takes to the idea of your aging process, and where the final bidding ends up.

the final bidding could really be quite good or quite not so good. Either way, it was a great project and I think I am finally in a very good place in re being able to do a quality job. I used the same brand of leather dye John (GW) uses as well as the same sealer/finishing coat.

With all the extra work that seems to be involved, I hope you can make a little to pay for all your trouble.

thanks TB. I kind of doubt I will make any money off of it but these "depot" jobs have been a blast to do.
