G-1 pocket flap question

Could you guys in the know, educate me on which G-1s had the scalloped pocket flaps? I've noticed that many are pretty much straight across but others have the scallop. Was it by maker, contract, year made or what??

The last G-1 to have 100% truly scalloped pockets was also the first of that series, introduced in the late 40's, the 55j14. The next change was the 7823(AER) and while some early versions have them, many do not. With the next change around 1960, the 7832A, they were gone.

Thanks, I've been looking at them lately, the prices on originals are fairly low compared to A-2s. I kinda like the scalloped pockets ones the best.
