Actually this is an original D-1 made by Western Lea Clothing Co under a 1943 contract- 43-13607 AF. Someone has added a patch pocket as on a B-3.

They actually made American shearling in multi-piece leather like that? I thought it vaguely resembled a D-1, but the weird angled seams and multi-piece sleeves threw me off.

You see quite a variety of D-1s and the multi-panel design of this jacket was far from being unique. It was an economical way to use sheepskin. :)
