Hi there,
I remember some time ago someone reported getting a "FOSTER SPORTSWEAR, CONTRACT: N-383S-20445" woven label for their AVI 55J14, can someone tell me who does this?
Thank you
Richard
Getting back to the LW, there are a few reproductions out there. You may be able to buy one from them. You can also make your own but finding the right label maker is tough and there are minimums per order, so it's expensive. It's not easy getting it right. Consider font style, color, spacing, size, etc. I have had labels take a month and have 20 revisions.
Another idea, just buy a more accurate reproduction that has the correct label, Twill Rayon liner, correct blackened Conmar Zip, etc.
Then you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars making it more accurate and go on a quest to find the right parts.
Yes the bigger sizes seem to never come around used. It's expensive to make these jackets accurately. Parts are hard to find and the mouton is especially hard. To get the right color, density, length of fur. That's why a lot of us use vintage stuff.
