It will go high. It is not only in exceptional condition but is quite rare having horsehide facings rather than the more usual goatskin ones which are almost always found H.L.B. Corp B-3s. The seller is a former member and he sells some great jackets.

Having studied the pictures carefully I suspect the Talon zip is a replacement. It looks as if the leather reinforcement tabs have been removed and re-sewn to accommodate the zip. I can also see a line if stitch holes near the top of the zip.

I think I see what you mean. The question is when was it done. May be old work from the appearance. Just early zipper failure? An error when made? The jacket doesn't appear to have had a lot of use.

I have owned B-3s in similar condition and had to replace the zipper due to a fracture suddenly appearing when zipping it up. The zip tapes can dry out and easily break. Nevertheless there is stiff bidding on this B-3 and it could exceed $2K.
