ELC AN-J-4 42 Very Nice

I just put it up...thanks for catching and posting it. Apologies to the VLJ crowd for the prose, but it is a VERY nice jacket and in perfect shape as I indicated. I hope it goes for more than $200 though, otherwise someone is getting a SUPER deal! ;)

That is a beauty! Sometimes artistic license can work out when applied correctly.

John,

You'll have to enlighten me about Fenland Sheep. What's the difference and why never again? Thanks and please check your email!

George

I just found out a bit about Fenland and it's definitely a real shame. There is no doubt that this sheepskin is of amazing quality (as you will soon see!) and so is most probably not from the mass tanneries!

And this one disappeared off eBay too. It looks like someone is undermining the ethics of forum members/eBay sellers with early lowball offers? Not naming names, but I got a similar query asking if I was selling any more cheap Eastmans. Maybe some are succumbing to some perceived heirarchy here?

Becoming an ungentlemanly habit?

Who knows... What does everyone else think?

I saw Georges jacket as soon as it appeared on ebay, I then contacted George and asked if I could buy it at the price of his choosing. He was reluctant to end the auction but the agreed sale price was a high one.

They were a very long established tannery known for very high quality products who supplied skins for Aero, Eastman and RMNZ over the years.
Sadly they went bust last year

I see no problem with this as long as there were no bids on the auction; eBay allows for auctions to be ended early, though I do think it's unfair if someone has actually bid upon them. It's all very well people saying afterwards "I was planning on bidding" but I'm sure we've all thought that on occasions and then for a variety of reasons have not done so. And then of course there's the winners who have a change of heart. And I'd rather the money goes to the seller/buyer than to eBay!

I had no intention of bidding; however, it appears that it is becoming a standard operating procedure for many buyers and sellers here. It undermines the credibility of the individuals and atmosphere of the forum. I understand your opinion....but you are.....one of....'them'.

So you pressured the accused into selling the jacket? I have no further questions your honour.
