I have read a lot about the ac-47 but can across this site about EC-47 very good site

I flew with a guy that flew EC-47s over there. Didnt see his picture tho.

Never really aware of the EC-47 ac-47 seems to be theo best known
Its a very informative site they flew to the end of the war nearly a lot of them over 100 missions
Its intresting that one got shot down classified an sc-47b in 1961 by AA gun fire from Pathet Lao forces causing the deployment of operation bell tone the first deployment of the f-100 super saber in theatre
The sc designation would indicate search and rescue

I had an OIC in the USAF around 1986 who had started his career on the EC-47. Sherril Freesmyer. Nice guy. He went on to fly C-39's, and B-52's.
