Very nice! he says the size 40 is running small. I always found that ELC sizes ran large, ie: Size 40 is really a SIZE 42 (So is it different for the A1 cuts?).

Paddy,
I take a size 40 in Aero Eastman, McCoys etc in A2's but I have a size 38 in the A1 which fits well so I think the A1 runs slighter larger

Excellent deal too.
Almost tempted to buy it as a back up to my one.

work day for me,, but, during a break i decided to troll ebay and found the a-1. bought it. i had one of the early elc a-1s made of cow or hh i believe, and it was a huge size 40 [more like a large 42 or 44]. the new a-1 in cape makes for a nice spring summer jac, and i wanted one since elc changed to the cape. as to fit, i would guess that the new a-1 in a size 40 should fit as a size 40. gary has revised the sizing on all of his a-2s, so i expect the same with the a-1.

I have one in size 38 and while it's a fairly snug fit I would say it fits true to size, but I guess no two jackets are identical. Great buy for someone; I thought about it for a second but couldn't see any point in having a second one.

I guess it didn't fit you when it arrived Victor? Good luck with the sale.

Mine's the same size, apparently it was ordered from Eastman with extra length in the sleeves. Looking at the measurements of this one, it wouldn't come close to fitting.

Why do they do this, and how do people buy Eastman jackets? Do you need to go a size larger to get the sleeve length?

Paddy,

My ELC A-1 is marked 44, but runs a little on the small side (in that I wear a wartime 44 A-2 and modern 42 jackets normally and the torso/shoulders fit extremely well).

The cut is slimmer and longer in the body (less boxy) and closer on the shoulder.

Cheers

Ian

I'm sure that rapid profit fits just fine too. ;)

you bet boss. start price was less then i paid, with a bin higher then i paid. quite frankly, my man, i expected to sell it for what i paid. an ebayer wanted it, and was willing to buy it for the bin. issue? a profit? yup, and so?????
