Yes, definitely keep the original lining and label. Ordered the new knits from David Sheeley. She will be sent to Steve for restoration.Definitely worth patching the lining as well. MIGHT even be worth getting a replacement label, although it'd be a shame to throw away an original, even one as mangled as that one.
Thanks. Will have Steve Sellers to do the job.So cool to see the Crown zip in solid condition! This will be a stunner once it gets new knits and the lining repaired. Whatever you do, please do NOT remove the spec label. It can be carefully re-enforced from behind. Congrats!
Its gonna be great!Yes, definitely keep the original lining and label. Ordered the new knits from David Sheeley. She will be sent to Steve for restoration.
That's the new knit on top and one of the originals below...Don’t shoot the messenger but the color looks off a bit . Looking up at your first photos you posted of the jacket, the original knits look a little darker.or deeper. It looks like all photos were taken outdoors so not sure how to explain that. I just checked the ELC A2 Manual photos and the they show a deeper color as well . Not saying that the ones you sourced are bad in any way just offering an opinion.
Yes … I understand.. I was trying to say that the new knits are a shade lighter than the originals. Not trying to “knit pick” ( no pun intended) just offering an opinion. Maybe this will explain a little better what I was trying to say . The original photos posted of the knits look darker. More like the dull purple ones DuBow used back in the day but the comparison photos of the old and new knits just posted today look totally different . Both look to have been taken outside .That's the new knit on top and one of the originals below...
