Does anyone know the date of this type Talon zipper, on a civi a2, been relined but this is the original zipper judging by the stitching.

Hi,
Looks like the same type female connection point as seen on a Talon zip for a G-1. In that case it was Ralph Edwards 7823A model G-1. I believe that contract was let in 1961. The exception being that particular zip's teeth were aluminum. But still probably roughly dates your A-2.

Hello,
I'd say late 40's early 50's, the box, zipper, puller and stops are identical to the main zip found on (AF33-038 436) Rainier N-3 parka and F-1 trousers. But the teeth's are different...
