Often, I’ve read that tall people complain that the CWU jacket is too short in the torso area. And sometimes it even looks too puffed… After trying several brands (Creative Apparel, Propper, Valley Apparel, Alpha Industries…), I can definitively say that the version that fits most tall people is the 1986 Alpha Industries in X-Large version (see photos). I've had two, one of which I sold with regret; both had exactly the same cut, so I searched and found another one (luckily for €70!). They are quite rare in good condition because they are old, but it worth the search, I noticed four things:
- Wider shoulders than other brands
- Closer fitting to the torso (not puffed)
- The length from the bottom of the collar is +3cm longer (around 1inch)
- The material seems lighter
I should mention that I am 1.85m tall and weigh 95kg.(6’1, 209lbs)
I will post photos with the jacket on soon
I hope this can help some in their search.
