I won this 352nd for a fair price,,,guy is from the UK and had no shipping cost listed,,with talking with JK we figured about $65 USD tops,,,well the guy came back with a shipping cost of a $145.50!I don't thing the nice guy has much experience with shipping outside The UK.

""Hi Clark

Finally got a confirmed postal amount from Parcel Force UK - The jacket would be sent to you Global Priority - Trackable and signed for delivery with an insurance value of £750.00 - Amount of postage - $145.50 I appreciate its a lot but unfortunatley thats Parcel Force for you - please tell me if you still want the jacket with that postage ASAP and I'll invoice you and get the jacket sent. If thats a positive could you please e mail me your address as you would want it to appear for delivery.

I'd ask him to check regular post.
Every Eastman I've had shipped from the UK came to around $65.00 shipping. Those were new jackets directly from Eastman.
Also...I'd ask him to note on the customs forms that the jacket is an "army jacket", "used" and "gift".
(All 3 if possible.)

Clark,

That's way over the top.

Firstly he would only be able to insure for the ebay amount unless he has an original receipt and is planning to commit fraud in the event of a loss.

Here's some prices based on a parcel weight of 1.9kg and insured to £330:

Global Value - 5to9 days - £44.20

Global Priority - 3 days - £68.35

Global Priority - 1 day - £68.65

The service I generally use is Airsure Small Packets which is insured to £500 and proof of delivery obtained -£33.06

I'd contact him again, ask him to weigh the jacket, also ask him if the weight is over 2kg to not send in a box.

Hope this helps a little!

I have already cancelled the transaction,,he didn't seem to know much about shipping out side the UK...not really worth pursuing.

I looked at buying this one as well, it seems to be pretty common with UK sellers on ebay to not be aware of shipping to the US or they are unwilling to do so. I have noticed that for ww2 militaria the standard seems to now be ships to uk and europe but not the USA unless you specifically ask them. It hardly seems fair, as I have been selling on ebay for years and will gladly ship to europe. my two cents....

In future, if any of you US guys have problems like this, don't hesitate to contact me and I'll act as a go between. I've been shown so much kindness and generosity over the years by members everywhere it's the least I can do.

Don't think so....Don't think I've ever seen another 352nd FS in a 44!This is the real only "grail" jacket for me.

I have purchased items for members in the UK and sent it to them because of Ebay sale to US only. I am sure someone will do the same for you here.
