Interesting... but with those photos, I don't think any real conclusions can be drawn, other than its a bit of a curiosity.

This Japanese dealer has been selling quite a lot of stuff recently-sets of knits, repro and original A2s. He still needs to learn to present his auctions effectively. He has a "mint" Sheeplined on Ebay but his distance shots make a true evaluation impossible!

the united may be the jacket that he got from me, that i got from chappy, last year on ebay. cant be %100 sure. if so, john may still have pix of it. as i remember, the jac was ok, in good over all condition [hides a little stiff], nothing special, just a nice original united.

So you mean its not mint as claimed by the seller? ;)

It's hard to tell with these jackets. The Japanese market is strange sometimes. I once saw an Avirex A-2 jacket hanging in a used leather shop in Tokyo that boggled my mind. It had an Avirex label but all the details of the jacket were much more accurate than anything I've ever seen offered by them in the U.S. It had epaulettes that were centered over the shoulder (not forward) and pockets that had the right proportion and spacing. The throat latch was the correct size and shape too.

I still can't figure it out to this day...

RMNZ did a special run of A-2's for them some years ago, also I think RMNZ made Avirex's 'museum' range B-3's.

I asked the seller for the measurements of a sz 40 Cooper/Dubow. The measurements he gave me looked to be for a sz 36. I recently asked for the measurements of his sz 44 Cooper made Dubow and he sent me this:
It is same as original Dubow 44, a little tight size. shoulder is 50 cm, armpit to armpit is 55 cm, back collar to waistband is 60cm approximately, 1 inch is 2.5cm.
These measurements seem to be maybe for a 42 short :?:

If the back length doesn't include the waistband, it's a 42 Long ... and the shoulder's very wide for a Dubow.

Thanks, I don't seem to have a handle on sizing based on cm measurements.
