Conmar Zipper teeth

Hello, just signed up for the forum and had a question for the group. I've got an early contract G-1 with the blackened Conmar zipper that is losing teeth. They seem to be breaking right at where they connect to the tape, is this a common problem on the period small tooth aluminum zippers?

I'm looking at a vintage replacement, but would like to get something more durable. Thinking Crown, Talon, or Conmar brass examples. Exact OEM specification is not a requirement, but a period correct example is desired. Any recommendations from the group? I've seen what MASH has in stock and started poking around fleabay. Also, does anyone have recommendations on who I should have to try and do the work? Thanks all...

Hi yes Aluminium zipper teeth oxidise and can become brittle with age. I've been able to transplant brass zipper teeth onto damaged zippers but never managed it with even brand new aluminium teeth.
izavailable a seller on eBay UK sells new old stock Conmars in brass at £30 plus postage. I used one of hers in my N1 deck jacket. Mash sells them too and felt too pens to stain the zipper tape brown.

Yes it's Sefton but when I've messaged them Ive always been answered by a female- hence 'hers'. It's such a shame they don't sell A2's but they do have nos Talon zippers

I've had good results from Byson in fact they supplied and fitted a nos Conmar zipper to my G1.
