Thanks for the response. The pics of Conklin are from the website of the 450th Bomb Grp (the Cottontail Sqd) in Italy
The pilots on my other post are all in the 368th Fighter Sq. - also in Italy. Ever since I got this new laptop, I've spent a lot of time checking out all these WWII Air Force websites. They're great and they're like windows into that time when these guys were at their courageous best! Wearing one their jackets sort of puts you back there. I had three uncles in the 8th AF and they really made an impression on me.
